Luxury handbag counterfeiting has taken off on social media. The most recent wave of counterfeit handbags, dubbed "superfakes," resembles the real luxury item remarkably well rather than being poorly constructed knockoffs.

Due to price increases at high-end luxury labels like Hermes, Chanel, and Prada, many buyers have been turning to imitations that look just as good as the originals but cost a fraction of the amount.

About 219,000 counterfeit bags, clothing, shoes, luxury goods, and other things were seized, according to the authorities. These products have a combined estimated manufacturer's recommended retail price of $1.03 billion.
